Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-31) introduced the Small Business Procurement and Utilization Reform (SPUR) Act alongside Republican Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) and Democratic Congresswoman Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03). The bipartisan SPUR Act would help small businesses compete for federal contracts by requiring the Small Business Administration (SBA) to consider the number of small businesses that secure a first-time federal prime contract when evaluating a federal agency on its contracting scorecard.

In the letter, Rep. Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. voted against Republicans’ H.R. 30, a disingenuous immigration bill that would put domestic violence survivors at risk of deportation. Current United States immigration law already addresses the offenses outlined in H.R. 30, and this poorly written bill would in fact target innocent survivors who acted in self-defense or were wrongly accused. In addition, this bill’s reach extends to green card holders, DACA recipients, and others with legal status.
