“First, they deployed the National Guard to escalate tensions, bypassing Governor Newsom's constitutional authority. Now, they’re bringing in Marines to intimidate our people.

Local and state law enforcement did not ask for assistance. Donald Trump is escalating the situation and making it more dangerous for everyone.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-31) attempted to conduct Congressional oversight at Adelanto ICE Processing Center. Rep. Cisneros, along with Rep. Judy Chu (CA-28), Rep. Derek Tran (CA-45) and members of the CHIRLA and ACLU were denied entry and prevented from exercising their duty.

“I’m deeply disturbed by the ICE raids unfolding across Los Angeles and the arrest of SEIU-USWW President David Huerta.

David is not only a courageous leader but also a trusted friend. He was exercising his constitutional right to protest when he was harassed, tased, injured, and unjustly arrested. This is nothing short of a targeted act of intimidation meant to silence communities of color.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-31) released the following statement after the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) completed its markup session on H. Con. Res. 14, the House Republicans’ partisan reconciliation bill. Rep. Cisneros offered two amendments regarding oversight over Elon Musk’s DOGE and its involvement within the Department of Defense and including funding for childcare worker pay and child development center infrastructure, but both were voted down by Republicans.
