Rep. Cisneros Hosts Medicare Town Hall in South El Monte
Rep. Gil Cisneros condemns Republican Big Ugly Bill and cuts to healthcare and Social Security for seniors
South El Monte, CA – Last night, Rep. Gil Cisneros (CA-31) hosted his third in-person town hall this year in South El Monte. Rep Cisneros and guest panelist Max Richtman from the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare brought constituents from across the district together for a discussion on protecting Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
“My constituents are fed up with Trump’s funding cuts to Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid,” said Rep. Cisneros. “Like millions of people across the country, they rely on these lifelines to survive and that’s why I am fully committed to fighting to save our healthcare and Social Security programs. I opposed Trump’s Big Ugly Bill and joined my colleagues on numerous letters and legislation to urge Republicans to reject any cuts to healthcare. They refuse to listen, but I’m not giving up when the stakes are this high. I will continue to fight to protect healthcare for seniors and all Americans.”
Rep. Cisneros is a Navy veteran and the former Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. He currently serves on the House Armed Services and Small Business Committees.
