Rep. Cisneros Announces Committee Assignments for 119th Congress
Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. announced that he will serve on the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) and the House Committee on Small Business. Congressman Cisneros previously served on HASC in the 116th Congress. He still awaits his Subcommittee assignments.
“I’m excited to announce my membership on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Small Business for this Congress,” said Rep. Cisneros. “As a Navy Veteran, the former Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, and a previous member of HASC, I believe I have the right experiences and skill sets to be an effective member of the Committee. As a former small business owner, I’m also honored to join the House Committee on Small Business and advocate for the engines of our economy. It’s especially prescient as there is an urgent need to help all the Los Angeles small businesses that have been impacted by the wildfires. My past experience and knowledge will be of value to both committees and I look forward to the work ahead.”
Rep. Cisneros is a Navy veteran, the former Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, and previously served in the 116th Congress. He is a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Congressional Labor Caucus, New Democrat Coalition, the bipartisan For Country Caucus, and Reproductive Freedom Caucus. California’s 31st District encompasses parts of eastern Los Angeles County and the San Gabriel Valley, including West Covina, El Monte, and Baldwin Park.
