What do you think of the Trump Administration’s first month in office?
I think it’s atrocious... We have a constituent who worked at the Department of Education and was a civil right attorney, unemployed now. They are cutting people with no concern for their livelihoods, or any concern for what the effects are of removing these people has on the government...
What do you think of DOGE and Elon Musk’s actions in the past month?
For [Elon] it was a good investment,.. He basically bought himself the Presidency of the United States. I have no doubt he is the one calling the shots,... And then they’re going out and telling this false truth that they’ve already found so much savings, but they’re not sharing what that is. They haven’t done anything to make the government more efficient... They are going through and causing destruction...
It seems like the Trump Administration is just blitzing with every possible issue under the sun. How are Democrats going to respond? What does that look like?
I think we have to do what we can to respond to these issues and get after it. And we have to encourage people, we cannot do this by ourselves. The American people need to speak up. They need to get out there, they need to rally... It’s getting out there... and letting [this administration] know how they feel and how devastating it is to them.
