Rep. Cisneros Launches CA-39 Survey on USPS Delays
FULLERTON, CA - Today, Representative Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39) launched a survey for 39th District residents to get information about U.S. Postal Service (USPS) mail delays. As a result of the recent changes at the USPS, there have been reports about veterans experiencing delays with their mailed prescription drugs and small businesses concerned their packages won’t reach customers on time. Rep. Cisneros is flying to Washington, D.C. today to vote for the Delivering for America Act, a bill he’s cosponsored and which would provide the USPS with $25 billion to cover revenue losses, reverse service and operational changes implemented earlier this year, and require that all election-related mail, including ballots, be treated as first class to ensure swift delivery.
“I’ve received nearly 4,800 emails and calls from 39th District residents concerned about the Administration’s assault on the USPS. It’s having a negative effect on our veterans, seniors, and small businesses,” said Rep. Cisneros “I’m launching this new survey to gather the stories of my constituents who have been struggling with these mail delays. They deserve to be heard, and they deserve action. I’m flying to Washington, D.C. today, because I know that we must save the USPS for our community.”
