Rep. Cisneros Honors CA-39 Small Businesses and Organizations Going Above and Beyond During Pandemic

FULLERTON, CA - Last week, Representative Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39) honored six small businesses and organizations in the 39th District with an Above and Beyond Award to recognize their efforts in helping the community during this pandemic. 

“While this pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and instability, there have been countless bright spots in our community. Organizations, small businesses, and people throughout the 39th District have been stepping up to help those in need,” said Rep. Cisneros. “Whether it’s distributing food and supplies to families or changing businesses operations to manufacture PPE, our community has gone above and beyond to meet today’s challenges head on. I’m proud to honor these six small businesses and organizations who represent the very best of the 39th District and our country.” 

The CA-39 Above and Beyond Award recipients include:

  • Second Harvest Food Bank: Committed to feeding our most vulnerable populations in Orange County
  • Solidarity: Hosted a food bank for North OC residents to ensure no one goes hungry
  • The Yorba Linda Islamic Center: Quickly organized and began a food collection/delivery service to assist seniors throughout #OC who faced food insecurity
  • B.O.A. USA: Produced and shipped between 15,000-18,000 isolation gowns weekly to federal agency locations
  • AST Sportswear/USA Bayside: Produced and donated masks for hospitals and first responders across the U.S.
  • The La Habra Community Resource and Cares Center: Worked to ensure residents and the greater community have access to food and resources
