Press Release

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Representative Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39) released the following statement on Hispanic Heritage Month which is observed between September 15th-October 15th:

“I’m honored to join the Hispanic Community in the 39th District and across the country in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. From advancements in arts, education, and science, selflessly serving in our Armed Forces, and starting millions of small businesses, Hispanic Americans have made countless contributions to the well-being and growth of the United States. It’s why I voted to pass the National Museum of the American Latino Act in July, because Latino American history deserves its own place on the National Mall.

“Throughout this pandemic, the Hispanic Community has been essential in keeping our communities safe and healthy. They are healthcare workers saving lives, small businesses owners producing PPE, teachers educating our children, community leaders providing resources and food to those in need, and essential workers on the frontlines helping to keep our country going. Today and every day, I’m committed to lifting up the voices and issues of the Hispanic Community in Washington, D.C. and the 39th District.”

Rep. Cisneros is a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC).
