“As our community continues to fight this pandemic, it’s critical that our health centers are properly funded and equipped to meet the demand of COVID-19 cases,” said Rep. Cisneros. “It’s why I advocated and voted for health center funding in the coronavirus stimulus package. Congress has a responsibility to ensure our health centers and all those combatting this disease have the support and resources they need. We’re reaching a pivotal moment in this crisis that requires a continued coordinated and comprehensive response.”

“This funding comes at a critical moment for our organization, our patients and the community.  Our focus at this time is keeping as many patients safe at home as possible. We are actively reaching out to patients providing education and reassurance regarding the pandemic and how to stay well,” said Timothy Brown, CEO, St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers. “The funding will help us expand our telehealth or virtual visit capabilities for individuals with primary care needs. This service enables patients to connect with a physician or social worker from the safety of their home. We will also be working on expanding case management services to help those impacted by this epidemic connect to needed resources.”

The funding is distributed to three 39th District health centers:

  • $852,290 - St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers
  • $837,680 - Friends Of Family Health Center
  • $552,260 - North Orange County Regional Health Foundation
  • $2,242,230 - TOTAL
